Part 2 is a little more faithful to the movie as Frieza is received and characters such as Gohan and Piccolo fight horde battles with the Frieza Force before Goku and Vegeta step up with their new Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan forms. Beerus’ planet is also available to explore but there’s almost no reason to, the level cap does increase and you do get items to level up faster but again, hardly any content aside from beautiful cutscenes and an engaging boss fight. Part 1 doesn’t align itself up much with the movie, instead has Goku and Vegeta fight some trials before Beerus himself and obtain their Super Saiyan God transformation forms. The first two, A New Power Awakens are a re-telling of the Battle of Gods and Resurrection: F movies that were released well after the original Dragon Ball Z anime concluded. Yes, there are a few DLC packs for this game, and they expand the Dragon Ball Z lore. Especially if there isn’t much originality to them, however, we’re not just dealing with the story of Dragon Ball Z. So there hardly is anything worth talking about that can’t be boiled down to, watch the anime or read the manga. It’s the Saiyan Saga all the way to the Buu Saga, with events for the most part all being replicated. It….it is quite literally the whole story of the Dragon Ball Z anime, barring any filler, as is the case for the dozens upon dozens of Dragon Ball Z games that came before it. So with the hopes of bringing new people to the world of DragonBall once more, let’s see how this latest video game adaption stacks up. Even if you haven’t watched a single episode or read a chapter from DragonBall, it’s possible you have at least seen a reference or a parody to it in some shape or form. Dragon Ball Z is one of the most popular, influential and overall iconic animes and pieces of media in the world.
